Dinosaurs and Kids
Maybe you had a dinosaur book like this one when you were a kid.
Maybe you had a dinosaur book like this one when you were a kid.
And maybe as you got older, you read National Geographic which began to slowly convince you that dinosaurs evolved into birds:
Although National Geographic and so many other establishments believe this to be factual, what is the evidence for it? Anatomically, birds and dinosaurs are extremely different (cold blooded vs. warm blooded, different hips, different lungs, etc.). A feather alone is immensely complex and is light years apart from scales. So why do they suggest that dinosaurs evolved into birds?
The reason is that they need a predecessor to birds and dinosaurs are the closest potential ancestor in the geologic timescale. But is there fossil evidence to support the claim that birds evolved from dinosaurs? The archaeopteryx fossil is touted by National Geographic as the best evidence for this. Let’s take a closer look at this fossil.
Despite the museum replicas and artists’ renderings, there have never been any fossils that show dinosaurs ever had feathers. The infamous “archaeopteryx” leaves a lot to the imagination and is hardly proof of a feathered dinosaur (see resource page for more on this).
Let’s move on to the topic of dinosaurs living among mankind. The Bible states that all animals (and there is no reason to believe the Bible meant all animals except dinosaurs) were created on day 6, right before man. If that were the case, we would expect that somewhere in ancient history and in the Bible there would be mention of dinosaurs.
Once you are open to the idea, you can see evidence everywhere. For example, the great historian Herodotus recorded this in his writing, “The Histories”:
“There is a place in Arabia
situated very near the city of Buto, to which I went, on hearing of some winged serpents; and when I arrived there, I saw bones and spines of serpents, in such quantities as it would be impossible to describe. The form of the serpent is like that of the water snake; but he has wings without feathers, and as like as possible to the wings of a bat.”
How about the ancient Chinese calendar? There are 12 animals representing each month. 11 of the animals are perfectly common animals but then you have one supposedly mythical creature.
And why would the Bible have so many references to dragons? Here are some examples of the word “dragon” being used in the King James version and the corresponding text translated in ESV.
This is evidence of how strong the pressure to conform to evolutionary ideas has become in our culture. Even Biblical scholars are willing to compromise the integrity of the inerrant word of God to succumb to societal pressures.
Even more convincing than written accounts of dragons in ancient cultures is the representations of dragons that were created all over the world. Take a look.
Here’s a closer look at some of the Ica Stones first mentioned in the video.
These artifacts are absolutely incredible and are not isolated incidents by any stretch. Let’s summarize the evidence:
Before the term dinosaur was even created in 1841, we find:
Would you like some additional evidence? I’ve saved the best for last.
Before we jump into this discussion, let me provide some important background information to set the stage. The bodies of most living things are made up of a combination of bones, organs and the soft tissue that surrounds, connects and supports everything. Examples of soft tissue are tendons, ligaments, muscles and blood vessels. The primary protein (building block) for soft tissue is collagen.
The body, while it is alive, continues to maintain and replace proteins. After death occurs, these proteins begin to disintegrate. Think of Play-Doh. If you keep it moist and active, it can last a long time. If you let it sit out for a while, it becomes brittle and begins to crack. This is what happens with soft tissue. In most cases, when something dies the soft tissue is completely gone in a few years due to scavengers, water and microbes that break down the proteins. However, if the animal is buried in mud and quickly preserved, the collagen can last much longer.
However, chemical reactions are still at work on collagen even if it is preserved under the best of conditions. Observational studies on collagen decay rates have been done and conclude that collagen can’t ever last more than 900,000 years – and this is under a very unlikely, best case scenario which assumes perfect temperatures for maximum preservation.
DNA is another organic compound that decays over time. Similar studies were conducted on DNA and concluded that DNA can last no longer than 650,000 years in the most ideal conditions.
The decay rate of organic material is and always has been a very commonly known. It is an accepted fact of biology. No one ever questioned it, at least not until about a decade ago when the most significant find in paleontology was published by Dr. Mary Schweitzer. A discovery that I would wager you have never heard about (a discovery that evolutionists would prefer you didn’t hear about). Take a look at this astounding find:
Maybe if this happened in just one fossil, it would be easier to write it off as some type of fluke. However, since this discovery, soft tissue, DNA and other organic material has been found elsewhere. Below is a table which outlines various fossils that are supposedly millions of years old based on the belief in the geologic column that have been found with soft tissue:
This phenomenon simply can’t be adequately explained by the evolutionary community. It can, however, be ignored and silenced (which is exactly what has happened).
This is further evidence that the reason evolution is so strongly supported has nothing to do with science and everything to do with belief and faith in an atheistic worldview.
