The Denial

The evidence for a Creator seems so obvious and clear. So how is it possible that so many intelligent minds around the world deny what is so clear. Paul says in Romans 1:20, “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”

In our earlier pages we showed several clips from Ray Comfort’s movie, “The Atheist Delusion”. In the first part of the film, Ray is making the case for intelligent design to atheists. Let’s return and see if Ray has made any progress after getting an admission that something can’t come from nothing and that information can’t make itself.

This used to baffle and frustrate me. However, it shouldn’t. Jesus told us in John 3:19 and 20 the reason for this response:

“This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.”

And in Romans 1:21 Paul says this:

”For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.”

Watch a clip from the conclusion of “The Atheist Delusion” as Ray Comfort confronts his new friends about why they really don’t believe in God.

If you watch the rest of the movie, you’ll continue to see a much different response as Ray begins to appeal to them out of love and a desire to help as opposed to showing them their flawed logic. That’s why I created this website with believers and potential believers in mind. If you are curious and open, then the truth will lead you to great faith. If you have already decided you won’t believe, no amount of evidence will change your heart.

If you do choose to share this information with an unbeliever, I recommend that you be very prayerful and let the Holy Spirit guide you. As Paul said in 1 Peter 3:15, “…Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” But he ended with this extremely important command, “But do this with gentleness and respect”.

If you are simply trying to win an argument or prove that someone is wrong, you will never win their heart. As we know, it isn’t their mind that is the problem. This debate has never been about intelligence – how could it be with so many clearly intelligent people on both sides of the argument? This debate is about mankind denying what they know to be true so they can live like they want to live. We should approach people with love and not anger, even if that is how we are being treated by them.
